Oxford Archaeology undertook a range of heritage consultancy work in Xi'an, China on the Daming Palace Heritage Park development. As part of this programme, OA was invited to advise and help build capacity within the newly created Daming Palace Foundation, one of the first heritage foundations in China. OA provided staff with advice on the governance of the organisation and activities to engage financial supporters and to raise awareness of the conservation of Daming Palace. One initiative was to set up a young archaeologists' club which is now fully functional. OA has recently been asked to provide a tour of its facilitates in Oxford to this year's winner of an annual Daming Palace young archaeologist competition.
