Oxford Archaeology undertook a training workshop for cultural heritage professionals  in Cetinje, Montenegro, on behalf of the Ministry of Culture with support funding from the British Council. The aim of the workshop was to provide assistance to cultural heritage professionals in project design and management with specific reference to the EU's Instrument of Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA). Montenegro currently has only 25 professional archaeologists and no university faculty for archaeology or heritage. Rob Early focused on two largely untouched archaeological sites dated to the Roman and medieval periods. Funds were sought for setting up international research centres and developing the profile of the two sites for cultural tourism.
