OA’s Head of Heritage Burial Services, Louise Loe, has, with Sharon Clough of Cotswold Archaeology, contributed to a new book, Ethical Approaches to Human Remains, published by Springer
The volume, edited by Kirsty Squires, David Errickson and Nicholas Márquez-Grant, combines international perspectives on the current ethical considerations and challenges facing bioarchaeologists in the recovery, analysis, curation, and display of human remains.
The chapter written by Louise and Sharon, 'Ethical considerations in the excavation of burials in England: a perspective from developer-led archaeology', considers ethics in commercial osteoarchaeology and discusses several of OA’s projects.
