Congratulations to the Duddon Valley Local History Group, which has won the Marsh Award for Community Archaeology for the Duddon Dig project

The Marsh Award for Community Archaeology recognises and promotes the results of research and fieldwork led by community groups which have made a substantial contribution to knowledge and wellbeing.

Stephe Cove and Ken Day collected the award on behalf of the Duddon Valley Local History Group at the Marsh Awards ceremony at the Society of Antiquaries in London. Huge congratulations are also due to Eleanor Kingston, who was also involved in the project and won the award for Community Archaeologist of the Year.

The Duddon Valley group ran the Duddon Dig project in conjunction with OA North. A blog that documented the excavation and some of the post-excavation results was maintained and can be read here: https://duddondig.wordpress.com/
