21st June 2017:
'Hidden Lives', a new exhibition at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, features 25 years of excavations by Oxford Archaeology East at the Hinxton research campus in Cambridgeshire
In 2015, scientists from the Wellcome Genome Campus sequenced the genomes of five of the skeletons excavated at the campus, along with five other remains from nearby OA East sites in Linton and Oakington in Cambridgeshire. The exhibition displays some of these individuals, alongside artefacts from the Palaeolithic to the Anglo-Saxon period.
The exhibition is free to visit and open on the third Saturday of every month between June and December 2017. Exhibition curator, Becky Gilmore, will be giving talks at these monthly Open Saturdays, and tours of the campus will be available to visitors. Book now to visit.
