
Simon Palmer
Chief Financial Officer
Simon unusually combines his extensive archaeological experience (graduating in Archaeology from Reading University in 1977) with his later training as a Chartered Management Accountant (qualified ACMA in 2004). He has been involved in managing archaeological organisations at a senior level for over twenty years, covering all aspects: finance, HR, IT and general administration.
Prior to taking on these non-archaeological roles, Simon was employed as a Senior Project Manager, directing major archaeological excavations and heritage management projects within the Oxford region.
Simon balances the important commercial needs of a modern organisation with a deep understanding of the passion and pursuit of archaeology within the Charity sector.

Stacey Farrell
Human Resources
Stacey graduated from the University of South Wales in 2002 with a BA (Hons) in Human Resource Management and she is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
A HR and Training Practitioner with over 14 years’ experience in Human Resources and Training and Development, Stacey has worked in Education, Financial Services, Telecommunications, Retail, Healthcare and the Police.
Stacey joined Oxford Archaeology in July 2014 and as Group HR Officer, her role is to support the delivery of the human resources function. She is commercially focused and has a passion for personal and organisational success.

Nicola Gifford-Cowan
Operations Manager
Nicola supports OA East's contractual obligations and its staff through management of office resources, administration, premises and grounds maintenance, a compliant vehicle fleet, as well as personnel, finance and health and safety functions.
She joined the company in 1998, giving her many years of relevant experience, and prides herself in her organisational abilities. Nicola has a BA (Hons) from Middlesex Polytechnic.
