Managing, maintaining, and sharing the value of local, regional, national and international heritage

OA has offered services in heritage management and consultancy since 1989, and, working on the Channel Tunnel Rail-link (HS1), was the first organisation to complete a heritage chapter as part of an Environmental Impact Study. Over 25 years our services have developed steadily to include desk-based assessments, environmental impacts assessments, historic building assessment and recording, planning and strategic advice, conservation and management plans, industrial archaeology, historic landscape character assessments, Listed Building and scheduled monument consents, strategic studies, heritage research projects, documentary research, large-scale management and condition surveys for all landscape types and detailed walkover assessments. As leaders in the sector, our expert team is often chosen to carry out research and provides strategy and policy advice to local and regional authorities, as well as national and international heritage institutions. Our heritage expertise continues to develop outside the planning process.
